Locals say no to BHP Billiton's Pujada Bay nickel mining activities

Local communitites at Pujada Bay in the Philippines urge BHP Billiton to respect their wishes and have indicated their opposition mining in their area. A petition of over 800 people opposing the project is further suppported by resolutions of two out of the three local level government units which have oppposed any mining in the sensitive region that includes protected terrestrial and marine areas.    more»
